Light Rail Info

A public information open house concerning the Central Broward Transit study will be held at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center, 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  Exhibits and displays will be available for community members to visit any time during the evening and learn more about light rail transit and the Central Broward Transit Study. Exhibits will include:

An animation of light rail along State Road 7 and Broward Boulevard, showing how the system may look in the future. The animation will show the transit system in operation with surrounding automobile traffic.

A noise kiosk with head phones will allow people to hear what the area sounds like today and how the sound changes when adding light rail or other activities.

Examples of light rail systems existing today in other parts of the country, including videos and photographs of trains and stations in a variety of situations (on the ground and elevated).

The intent is to make the open house informative and fun and we look forward to seeing you on November 13, 2007.
